Full Description
V71 Area of flattish cleared land south of stream c. 50 x 30m. Area contains at least four specific features:
(a) NB 18039 11361. Amorphous linear stone embankment c. 25m long with slight curvature and c. 4-5m wide. Sporadic edging stones visible. Maximum surviving height c. 0.3m. Difficult to define.
(b) NB 18040 11357. Sub-circular stone-edged feature c. 2m in diameter and maximum surviving height of c. 0.2m. Stands out vegetationally.
© NB 18018 11351. Sub-rectangular enclosure c. 3 x 3m but with south walling missing. Walling of turf and stone, of maximum thickness c. 0.5m and of maximum surviving height c. 0.4m. Some collapse on west side.
(d) NB 18000 11360. Collapsed stone structure eroded by stream. Survives as c. 3m wide with narrow central entrance and c. 2m of long walls against stream edge. Walls c. 0.5m wide but collapsed and surviving to maximum height of c. 0.5m at south-east corner. Stream eroded section shows possible stone floor.
