Full Description

V72 Area of flattish cleared ground south of strream c. 50 x 25m.. Area contains three possible features:

(a) NB 17943 11357. Collapsed rectangular structure c. 5 x 3m (externally) and c. 3.75 x 1.75 (internally), located approximately 5m south of stream. Collapsed walls between c. 0.5-1m wide and of maximum surviving height c. 0.75m. Walls stone-faced on both sides with probably earth core. Partial stone partition towards stream north end. Further partition, slightly curved, at south end providing confined area between two partitions of diameter c. 1m and probably secondary. Visible doorway located at north with possible blocked opening adjacent at north-east.
(b) NB 17927 11360. Small stone-sided rectilinear structure (?) c. 3 x 3m defined by a few large stones at edges. Maximum wall thickness c. 0.5m and maximum surviving height of c. 0.3m.
C) NB 17967 11357. Possible remains of rock shelter formed by large glacial erratic c. 1.25 x 1.5m fronted by set (?) stones enclosing an area of roughly 2 x 1m.
