Full Description

V207 NB 11672 14742. Two near complete beehive stone structures (a) and (b) constructed on raised earth and stone mound ©. The base of the stone structures are constructed on broadly rectangular foundations with rounded corners with the upper courses gradually indenting to create convex roof.

(a) Internal dimensions of c. 2.5 x 2m with an internal floor to roof height of c. 1.85m. 4 niches present set back within the walls measuring c. 0.4m in width and height recessing into the wall to a depth of c. 0.5m. Entrance c. 0.9m in width with a height of c. 0.7m.
(b) Internal dimensions c. 2.25m x 1.95m with a floor to roof height of c. 1.6m. Entrance c. 0.65m in height and width. Both structures may share an integral dividing wall, although this is difficult to assess.
© Raised earth and stone mound c. 10m x 8m surviving to height of c. 0.8m.

Roof of southern most structure has partially collapsed atsome piont between 2015 -2017
