An extensive system of head-dykes which runs roughly E-W from NB 272 461to NB 238 446 is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 3). It adjoins two other systems of head-dykes to the E (NB24NE 52) and the W (NB24SW 58).
Some lengths of head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
