What may be seven roofed shieling-huts are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1854, sheet 18). Five unroofed buildings which may be shieling-huts are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 23 September 1997.

There are a wide variety of structures located on this natural outcrop, that may well represent a broad chronological span. One ruined structure is sub circular (3x2m) with stone slabs set on their edge representing an entrance to the the south, this has the potential to be of beehive construction; (NB 27176 36559). A large rectangular house type structure (9 x 3m) is set into natural outcropping rock, roughly 3 - 4 courses of stonework appear to revet an external turf bank, with a short stone lined entrance way facing SW. A cast iron bedstead jiont was observed on the wall head (NB 27263 36538).
A stone and turf sub rectangular structure (7 x 4m) located on a small raised area adjacent to a rock outcrop with opposing entrances to NW/SE (NB 27224 36623).
