Name Book 1852.

A crofting township, comprising fourteen roofed, five unroofed buildings annotated 'ruins' and a crofting field-system is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1852, sheet 15). The part of the site to the E of the N-S road has a very organised layout and may be connected to a single period of reorganisation (NB43NE 14.01). That to the W has a dispersed lay-out and may represent an earlier phase (NB43NE 14.04).
Sixteen roofed and six unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1988).
