The 6" 1st edition Ordnance Survey sheet (1849) depicts a long roofed building, with probable gabled front to central (eastern) elevation, within a large square enclosure. Enclosure also has a roofed structure along the southern boundary and as well as two probable small enclosures. A linear feature alignes ENE / WSW centrally across the enclosure and appears to link with a river; possibly a drainage dyke? A clearway is noted in front of the main building, located within the tidal zone.
