The Chapman/Gibbs map (1807) depicts a small settlement / farmstead in this general location shown as in ruins on the 6"1st edition Ordnance Survey map sheet (1850). The later manse & farmstead shown on the 6" 2ed OS sheet (1895), appear to have been built on this site.
