What may be two roofed shieling-huts are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1851, sheet 20). One roofed building is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972).

Field survey carried out in December 2007 noted that the area has a large amount of ground disturbance in this area over a numnber of years from the current pipeline maintenance and machinery access to the reservoir. As a results, field survey did not locate any remains of this site.

One sheiling still exists as a heather and grass covered mound, notible by the stones sticking out of the vegitation. A second mound 10m to the west, which now with a concrete capping, is likely to be the location of the other sheiling.
