A township, comprising twelve roofed buildings, two are annotated as corn mills and one is a church, one partially roofed building annotated as 'Ruin', six unroofed buildings and at least fifiteen enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 12). To the SE is an extensive system of head-dykes (NB24SW 60) which may be partly associated with this site.
The township has been replaced by a crofting township as shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1975).
