A township, comprising six roofed buildings, of which one is a mill and another is annotated as an inn, ten unroofed buildings and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 12). In addition an extensive system of head-dykes (NB24SW 58), which may be partly associated with this township, lies to the SE.
What may be a crofting township of ten roofed and five unroofed buildings is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1974).
