Mangersta Radio Station is situated at the end of a track from Mangersta on a headland annotated as Leum a' Bhreabadair. The ground station was in use during WWII and was equipped with a type 700 set for the LORAN system. The site is depicted on the current chart copy edition of the OS 1:10000 map, (1974).
Information from Mr I brown, November 1999

This Royal Navy WW II Radio Station is situated at the end of the track which runs N from Mangersta to the coast.
One brick and concrete building is extant along with several hut bases on the high point which is above the modern Civil Aviation (CAA) building. The site was Royal Navy property until 1946 when it was taken over by the CAA.

REPORT DATE: 12/08/2004

The site was as described in the NMRS. Pole 273 stood 8m east of a massive brick and reinforced concrete building platform mearuing 10.5 x 7m northwest to southeast. A reinforced concrete building footing lay in parallel 3m further west, measuring 22 x 6m. This probably represented the remains of a former toilet and or shower block, as several fragments of ceramic lavatory bases lay within and around the structure and a drain extended to the southeast, ustilising a natural stream bed and featureing three brick and concrete inspection hatches. 7.2m further west of the toilet block and also in parallel, lay a second brick and contrete platrofm measuring 23m x 8m northwest to southeast, with outlying concrete steps and brick footings.
