Full Description

Built circa 1811 as parish manse (though building sequence is not straightforward: parts are later, other parts may be earlier). 2 storeys, 3-bay front with flat-roofed centre porch added, all walls now dry-dashed, painted ashlar margins. To front, windows all sash and case, 12-paned at ground, 4-paned at first floor, end stacks, skews with moulded skewputts unlikely to be original. Slate roofs. Substantial rear ranges, including piended range in double-pile arrangement, lower ranges beyond.

Bibliography

NEW STATISTICAL ACCOUNT, XIV, pp137-8 ("The present manse was built twenty-five years ago...2; report dated September 1835).
