Structure 7:
Structure 7 is oriented soutwest-northeast, and appears on the 1895 OS map. It seems that this structure was lengthened after the map was surveyed, with a chimneyed gable at the northeast end of the structure. Wallpaper and the remains of a wooden floor can be seen in the building.
Internally, it is split into a dwelling at the northeastern, uphill end and a byre at the downhill, southwestern end. The two are divided by a stone faced, earth cored wall with a hearth and chimney built in, which has collapsed.
The dwelling area measured 9m x 4m internally, while the byre measures 8m x 4m.
A barn was built on the western side of the structure, but appears to have been abandoned for longer than the main building, as is evident from the advanced state of collapse of the walls. The entrance between the byre and banr has been blocked with earth and stone, possibly at the time when the gable and partition walls were added.
The land to the south of the structure has been drained with a system of stone lined and capped channels. A drain can be seen exiting the byre and joining this sytem.
