NF71NE 19 7935 1943

The WW II RAF Air Sea Rescue unit was based in Lochboisdale Harbour (NF71NE 15) and no evidence can be seen for this today. The Unit had a camp behind the Lochboisdale Hotel (NF71NE 13). There was also another RAF accommodation camp in Lochboisdale for transport and stores for RAF Benbecula (NF75NE 4.00) and the site has now been built over by a post-war housing estate.
