NF77SW 44 7325 7421 and 7335 7422

An animal pen and a structure, situated on the W facing slope above Baleban farmstead (NF77SW *), were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Beinn Riabhach, North Uist. The pen, at NF 07325 7421, which measures c.3m by 2m, is built against a rock outcrop on the E and is defined by large boulders.
The structure, which lies to the E at NF 7335 7422, measures 4m by 2.5m over grass-covered turf banks spread to 1m in width and standing to 0.3m in height. There are traces of a turf bank around the S side of the structure.
