NF77SW 46 7445 7404
A gravel pit, situated next to a track on the SE-facing slope of Beinn Riabhach, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Beinn Riabhach, North Uist. The gravel pit is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire (Hebrides) 1881, sheet xxix). A second quarry, to the E, post-dates the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire (Hebrides) 1904, sheet xxix).
