Full Description

A track, leading from the modern road into the peat banks on the Bogach Eik, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Beinn Riabhach, North Uist. The track is first depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North Uist & Harris 1881, sheet xxix) and has been extended by the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, North Uist & Harris 1881, sheet xxix). Although currently used by wheeled vehicles, it is, in origin, presumably a peat track.
