Full Description

NF77SW 37 7486 7405

The heather- and grass-covered remains of a turf- and stone-built structure, situated against (or possibly overlain by) the boundary-dyke (NF77SW 35) about 60m to the E of the Abhainn Eik, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Beinn Riabhach, North Uist. The structure measures 11m by 4m overall with 0.7m wide banks standing up to 0.6m in height on the S and less on the N. It is visible as two hollows, each c.2m square, which, whilst conceivably parts of two separate structures, probably represent the interior compartments of a single building.
