25 February 1862, JANE, brigantine, 92 tons, 6 crew, carrying coals, stranded, total loss, 1 life lost, wind SW9, Island of Heisker or Monuch [Monach], N. Uist.

This loss may be equated with the wooden brigantine, carrying a cargo of coal, that Whittaker notes as having foundered on 18 February 1862. (Capt. Thomas: deposition taken at Stornoway).
