28 June 1864, LABUAN, SS, of Hull, 723 tons, Official No. 25,619, Charles Hargitt, Master, departed Liverpool on 25 June, for Cronstadt, crew of 21, cargo of cotton and coals, stranded on a sunken rock named the Lag na Laire, near Glass Island, Stornoway. Large portion of cargo was saved, on 30 she broke in half and the after part settled in deep water. Inquiry at Liverpool.

Stornoway, 29th June. The LABUAN (s.s.), of Hull, Hengitt, from Liverpool to Cronstadt, with cotton, struck during a fog yesterday on a rock off Glass Island in Harris, about 30 miles from this place, and lies in, a dangerous position.

A telegram has been received at Hull from Stornoway states that the LABUAN (s.s.), from Liverpool to Narva, is ashore off Glass Island bilged in main hold, with 12 feet water in her, and would begin to discharge cotton out of the after hold.

Greenock, 14th July. The CLANSMAN (s), arrived here yesterday with 360 bales of cotton, saved from the LABUAN (s.s.), from Liverpool to Narva, which was stranded off Glass Island 28th June: she reports the wreck as being in the same position.
