NLO: Butt of Lewis [name: NB 519 665].
9 May 1882, RAMBLER, 2 yrs old, not registered, wooden lug, 18 tons, 5 crew, Master and Owner C. McLeod, Byble, near Stornoway, departed Byble for fishing, in ballast, collided into by unregistered lug PRIMROSE, 2 lives lost, wind SW8, total loss, about 8 miles off the Butt of Lewis, Hebrides.

PRIMROSE fishing boat, of Banff, Slater, was in collision on May 9 with the RAMBLER boat, of Stornoway, which sank, two of her crew being drowned. The PRIMROSE lost bowsprit. (Stornoway, May 9). [Record received incomplete].

(Classified as wooden lugger, in ballast; registration number and date of loss cited as SY 52 and 9 May 1882 respectively). This vessel was in collision and sank about 8 miles off the Butt of Lewis. Capt. McLeod.
