The VENUS, from Liverpool to Norway, was lost 30th January on the Island of Rona, with all the crew.

(No classification specified: cargo cited as salt, and date of loss as 30 January 1810). Venus: this vessel was abandoned off Islay, found wrecked on Rona, North Uist, and sold. Broken up?

The discrepanicies between the account given by Whittaker and the manuscript source cited remain unresolved. The location of loss remains unverified; the are numerous 'Rona' names in the Western Isles.
