Full Description

NB43SW 8071 unlocated

NLO: Stornoway [name: NB 425 330].

Stornoway, Sept. 24, 3.48 p.m., fishermen reported vessel, supposed to be a schooner, seen floating bottom up off this harbour: steamer gone to look for wreck - has not returned.
Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 20,409, London, Thursday September [24 1879].
NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4851).

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary. The loss is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), and it is unclear where (if anywhere) the derelict floated onto shore.
