Full Description

NF77NW 8002 unlocated

Lerwick, April 22. 'Accounts were yesterday received of a quantity of large timber (supposed to be American) and part of a ship, having been thrown on shore on the north-west part of the Island of Uist'.
Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 5488, London, Friday May 5 1820.
NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6075).

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, probably beyond Scottish waters.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
