W. 5 December 1850. ENTERPRISE, schooner, 86 tons 5 crew + 2 passengers. Loch Broom to Stornoway, salt, SW+ly S, thick 5am ? full. No exams, 9 years, value vessel #500, insured #200 at Liverpool. Cargo value #94 insured #60 at Liverpool. 1 passenger life lost, Tavay, wrecked at Tavay near. Brechin Island (1) Thick weather and want of light on the Point of Annish 'Not sufficient means of saving life in district.' CGd Stornoway (Colth. Customs)

W. 5 December 1850. ENTERPRISE of Stornoway, schooner, Ullapool to Stornoway. SW force 9, Birkin Islands, struck on sunken rock of the. Immediately filled and sunk in deep water. Crew saved with much difficulty in golly boat with only 1 oar. SHIPPING AND MERCANTILE GAZETTE 9 December 1850.
