The ARIADNE, Burrows, from Stockholm to Boston, sailed from Stromness 7th ult., after being repaired and was wrecked 18th on the Lewis's.

(Classified as [full-rigged] ship: no cargo specified but date of loss cited as 18 March 1816). Ariadne: this vessel was wrecked at West Loch Tarbert, Lewis. Capt. Burrows. Later hull for sale.
Registration: American. 400 tons burthen.

West Loch Tarbert is not specificially noted on the 1997 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but the name presumably applies to the inner projection of Loch a' Siar [name centred NB 080 037] leading to Tarbert or Tairbeart [name: NB 154 001].
