Stornaway [Stornoway], 9th Dec. 'The OSCAR, from Londonderry to London, was stranded in Branahny Bay 6th inst., during a heavy gale from SW. The crew and small part of the cargo and materials saved. The TRAVELLER, Wighten, from Quebec to Dundee, was stranded near the Butt of Lewis, during a severe gale from NW on the 8th inst. Crew saved. The gales of the 6th and 8th inst., have been very severe on this coast.' [Record received incomplete].
