29 December 1879, CLAN CAMPBELL, 4 yrs old, of Glasgow, Lloyd's 100 A 1., last survey 12.79, iron barque, 728 tons, 18 crew, Master P. Ewen, Owner T. Dunlop, Glasgow, departed Liverpool for Valparaiso, carrying coal, loss of topsails, decks swept etc., 1 life lost, wind SW10, partial loss, about 35 miles SW of Barra Head, North Channel.
