Dunlop, Glasgow, departed Liverpool for Valparaiso, carrying coal, loss of topsails, decks swept etc., 1 life lost, wind SW10, partial loss, about 35 miles SW of Barra Head, North Channel.

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary: Barra Head lighthouse (NL58SW 7) is at NL 548 802. The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), suggesting that she was successfully recovered.
