NLO: Haskeir Island (Eilean Hasgeir) [name: NF 617 822].
Benbecula, near Dunvegan, 6th Jan. `Part of the wreck of a vessel, supposed to be the TELESCOPE, of Dartmouth, was driven on shore 6th ult., on the Island of Heisker, near North Uist: three casks of whisy marked `Glasgow Distillery Company¿ floated on shore there at the same time.¿

Greenock, 16th Jan. `The TELESCOPE, Codner, which sailed from the Clyde for Sligo, on the 26th Nov., has been wrecked near North Uist, and it is feared the crew were drowned.¿
