The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary. It is unclear whther the stranding occurred on the eastern (Sea of the Hebrides) or western (Atlantic) shore of the island.
Whittaker cites the name of the vessel as Sta Miguel el Tritrepido and suggests an alternative location on the west side of South Uist.
