17 January 1854, PIONEER, of Liverpool, lugger, 17 ton, 3 men, Stornoway to Liverpool, potatoes, wind SSW force 11, thick with rain, value #100, insured, cargo #40, insured #40 at Liverpool. Wrecked. At Loch Boisdale, South Uist, by driving from her anchors on the rocks in a heavy gale. Crew saved. Shipping and Mercantile Gazette. Lloyds List. Coastguard Officers.
