27 January 1854, W.H. DAVIES, of Liverpool, 876 ton, 24 men, Liverpool to New Orleans, salt, wind force 11, 23 dead, total wreck. On Vatersa Island, Hebrides, at night, by stress of weather, and only one (the steward) saved. This vessel sailed from Liverpool January 10th, put into Belfast, leaky, January 12th, the crew being refractory and refusing to work the ship.
