4th February 1861, FREDERIKE, 4 yrs old, schooner, 118 tons, 7 crew, carrying salt, foundered, total loss, 7 lives lost, Bahanald, Hebrides.

The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary and it may fall on map sheet NF66NE. Larn and Larn locate the loss at 'Bahanald' in the Outer Hebrides. Bahanald cannot be located from the available map evidence, but may be equated with the various 'Balranald' place names in this area.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
