The map sheet assigned to this record is arbitrary and it may fall on map sheet NF66NE. The recorded intended route of the vessel suggests that the stranding occurred on western (Atlantic) rather than the eastern (Minch) shore of the island.
Whittaker locates the loss at 'Balranald Shore', which cannot be located from the available map evidence, but may be equated with the various 'Balranald' place names in this area.
