26 December 1865, MIC MAC, 515 tons, of Glasgow, total loss, departed Montreal for Glasgow, carrying corn, stranded at Aird Runir, North Uist.

Balranald, Lochmaddy, 26th Dec. The MICMAC, McMurchy, of and for Glasgow, from Montreal, with Indian corn and oats, came to anchor off this place this afternoon, having struck heavily a short time before on a rock in the sound of Monach Island. The crew came ashore at 3.30, and report the vessel in six fathoms, and with one inch (?) of water in her hold.

Balranald, Lochmaddy, 27th Dec. The MICMAC drove on a reef of rocks during the gale of last night, and is lying on her side, thumping heavily, and a total wreck: it is feared that the cargo is all lost: some of the wreckage has washed ashore.

Glasgow, 4th Jan. Nearly 100 barrels of oats have been saved from the MICMAC, McMurchy, from Montreal to this port, wrecked 26th Dec., in Lochmaddy.
