17 November 1893, CHRISTINA, age unknown, not reg. wood fishing lugger. 18 ton. 4 men. Owner D. Munro, Achumelvich, Loch Inver [Lochinver], Sutherland. Loch Inver [Lochinver] to Stornoway. Ballast. 4 dead. Wind NNE11. Near Valtos, Island of Skye.

(Classified as wooden lugger, in ballast: registration number cited as WK 158 and date of loss as 17 November 1893). This vessel stranded near Valtos [Bhaltos], Skye, near Staffin.

The route cited for the vessel suggests that this loss probably took place on Lewis, rather than Skye as is noted by Whittaker. Staffin Bay and Staffin Island are at NG 48 69 and NG 49 69 respectively, off Trotternish.
