14 March 1851, ELLIOTS, of North Shields, Brig, 286 ton, Shields to Dublin, coals, wind SSW force 6, clear, day, ebb, vessel age 11, value #2000, cargo #400. Place - on sunken rock in Broad Bay, Stornoway. Struck while beating into Broad Bay and sunk in 10 fathoms water. Crew saved. Want of buoys to mark the rock, chart incorrect, not showing position of rock. Robert Walker = Master. Wm. Elliott = owner. Lloyds List 20 March 1851. Stornoway, 14th Mar. The ELLIOTTS, Walker, from Shields to Dublin, whilst beating into Broad Bay this morning, struck upon a sunken rock, and sank in ten fathoms water, and will most likely be a total wreck. . [record received incomplete].

(Classified as snow: no cargo cited but date of loss cited as 14 March 1851). This vessel sank in ten fathoms in Broad Bay.
