Stornoway, 27th May [1873], 5.15 p.m., the ROBINA, of Ardrossan, Macdonald, parted her cables, and drove ashore at 2 a.m., today, on rocks, at Port of Ness [Port Nis]: she is likely to become a total wreck: half cargo (salt) lost.

Stornoway, 31st May, 12.10 p.m., the ROBINA, of Ardrossan, which drove ashore, 27th May, at Port of Ness, has been got off with keel all gone and other serious damage, and is now at the quay there, in an exposed place.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
