Full Description

NB35NE 8035 unlocated

The MINERVA, Miller, from Riga to Liverpool, has been towed into the Lewes's, dismasted, and deserted by her Crew.
Source: The Marine List, Lloyd's List, No. 2894, London, Tuesday January 31 1797.
NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 3627).

The map sheet assigned to this record is entirely arbitrary. It is unclear whether this vessel was lost on the W (Atlantic) or E (North Minch) side of the island. The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 16 July 2004.
