Full Description
Structure G: A further, much larger building lies to the east of the above structures (smr nos 12179, 12180), closer to the east part of the southern peninsula (NB 12464 33269). Again this is set into a large green mound, which may indicate an earlier structure below it. This building is very ruinous and there are many stones within it, concealing its true morphology. It measures approximately 10m x 6m, north-south, and again has two compartments or rooms. They both meausre c. 4m by 4m internally, and although the southern is composed wholly of exposed stone, the northern is more denuded and the walls are turfed over. Part of the internal wall to the west side of the southern compartment is upstanding to at least 0.5m and a ruinous alcove is set into this wall (c. 0.5m in width). There is further walling to the east of this building. Large areas of feannagan (lazy beds) again cover the whole area.
