Full Description

The remains of a wall appear to run sporadically around the contour of a little hill presumably originally enclosing its top section. The wall now appears more like a blank, c.1.5m wide and 0.5m - 1m tall, and would appear to have been consrtructed using c.0.1 - 0.2m sizeclearance stones to fill in a central void between larger blocks. This feature may simply be a stock enclosure associated with the nearby shieling's, however there is also the possibility that it is a small defended settlement or fort dating from a much earlier time, as structures such as this are often dated from the iron age. See Drg.5,6.
