Full Description

The little hills mentioned above are all part of a large plateau, the highest area in the proposed forestry scheme. Most of this plateau has evidence of human occupation in the past, in the form of many dressed and/or useable blocks of Gneiss scattered around suggestive yet non-specific or undiagnostic humps, bumps and cleared areas. There is so much area of this material as to suggest either a rather extensive settlement or a small one that existed for quite some time and moved around this area. This second proposition would lend credibility to interpreting site 12900 as an ancient fort, the first would make it more likely to merely be a stock enclosure.
