This small yard has a basic boat building shed with an internal plank steamer box, and is located just above the High Water Level in Scotvein Bay. The slipway is cut into the bed rock at the E side of the shed. The yard produces clinker built boats upto 6.0m in length. The shed is a single-storey, rubble and shuttered concrete structure, measuring 13.0m in length by 7.0m in width with walls 0.30m in thickness. The hipped roof is of corrugated cement asbestos supported on wooden collar beam trusses. On the W there is a door which allows access to the slipway. Access to the shed is provided by a single dormer door. The floor is of earth and bedrock.

The oblong plank steamer, which is against the internal S wall, measures approximately 4.5m in length by 0.35m in width by 0.25m in depth, the side being some30mm in width. It has a removable end cover for access and is supported by a rubble stand on the E end and a wooden frame at the W end. The 'kettle' or 'boiler' is a drum measuring 0.5m in height by 0.4m in diameter. There is no firebox, the fire being set on the floor directly under the drum. The steam is introduced into the steamer by means of a 0.075m tube connected to the drum and water is introduced into the drum through a similarly sized hole. There is a flue into the shuttered concrete chimney, which is butted to the exterior of the S wall of the boat shed.
