Full Description

field system/enclosure
A short distance downhill from shieling 1 (smr 3558), the remains of what could be a field system or possibly a stock enclosure can be made out. Tw banks/walls intersect at right angles, one running horizontally across slope to the stream, whilst the other runs vertically down the hill appearing to terminate with visible stonework courses which may have been part of a gate or entrance to the enclosured area. No further features could be made out… Traces of feannagan or lazy beds can also be discerned outwith this area.
