Full Description

S57 a) NG 02267 93537 Structure of turf covered stone, c. 27m x 8m x 1.5m high. Large rectangular building with square corners and N-S orientation. Walls c. 2m thick, face dboth sides with large stones typically 0.5x 0.5m, standing for up to 3 courses internally. Internal dividing wall across centre of structure. Entrance 5m from N end, width 1.5m. Tumble of large stones in N end, up to 0.75m long. Row of stones 0.7m from E wall, extending from entrance to inner wall, for 6m. Second entrance 1.5m, 1m to south of dividing wall on E side.
b) to the W there is an adjoining compartment enclosed by walls of similar construction to the main structure, but using slightly smaller stones. The entrance to this area is to the south.
C) NG 02262 93553. Platform to N. of structure c. 10m x 5m, with terracing to N. Large stone facing down valley to N. at base of terrace.
