Full Description

9: NB 33179 21444. Field survey and cartographic study ()S 1st ed sheet 32) revealed an almost complete but unroofed blackhouse, byre and enclosure with associated rig and furrow cultivation adjacent. Although now ruinous, all componenets of the small croft remain. Aerial photographs taken in 1946 (CPE/Scot?UK 189 no. 1064) and 1951 (540/RAF/517 no. 3186), show the blackhouse and the byre as roofed and in use. Further aerial photographs taken in 1967 (OS/67/118 no. 373) show only the blackhouse as roofed with the byre unroofed.
