Full Description

13: NB 33355 21618. Field survey revealed a large, oval platform upstanding to a height of 0.4m to 0.5m with occastional stone revetment visible on the exterior edge and located in a sheltered hollow. The feature is orientated E-W and measure approximately 18m x 13m in overall plan. The function of the feature is uncertain, however in recent times it appears to have been used as a feeding stall. Aerial photographs taken in 1951 (540/RAF/517 no. 3186) appear to show this structure as a low enclosure? It may be that this site was a small enclosure that has gradually filled with manure or has been deliberately.
