Full Description

Site 01 (NF 79108 28545 - NF 79380 28836) is a boundary, constructed of turf with some sections of uncoursed stonework. It survives to a height of between 0.3 and 1m, and is approx. 0.75 - 1.2m wide. The boundary was traced for approx. 450m, and continues beyond the limits of the survey area. This is the most substantial boundary in the area, and corresponds to that shown on the 1881 Ordnance Survey 6" (1st revision) map, and is likely to be the remains of the head-dyke for the Airidh nam Ban township.
