Full Description

SABS 57: Tobar Mhoire Holy well (and Tobar Aindreas, Holy well, SMR no 304, NMRS 4261) NB 3802 5496

Dr MacLeod also records Tobaire Mhoire (Mary's well) situated on the roadside at Mol Eire, corresponding to the position of a well shown on the 1st edition map (1853) just south of Teampall Pheadair (1997, 28). He also records Fuaran an Deididh, a spring on the shore line north west of Teampall Pheadair (MacLeod 1997, 29). Tobar Anndrais and Tobar Mhoire were both pointed out by local residents to the author during the survey, but neither are in use now, having been either filled in during drainage work, or covered in stones.
